alac
Romanian
Etymology
Uncertain. Probably from Latin alica through a Vulgar Latin root *alaca (compare Spanish álaga), or alternatively from Hungarian alakor, though it may possibly itself be from Romanian. Others have suggested a connection with Albanian akuë or lakër, from Greek [1].
