frică
See also: frica and fricã
Romanian
Etymology
Probably from Ancient Greek φρίκη (phríkē) or more likely Byzantine Greek φρίκη (phríkē), but the presence of the word in Istro-Romanian indicates it was a very old borrowing. Compare Aromanian fricã, also Albanian frikë.
