Etymology
From the Día de los Reyes (day of the kings), celebrated in some Spanish-speaking countries on January 6 every year. On this day, the Reyes Magos (literally: magic kings, equivalent of the wise men) are said to give presents to children, equivalent to Santa Claus on December 25.
