Tocharian B
Alternative forms

Etymology
From Proto-Tocharian *eñcäuwo (whence also Tocharian A añcu, of uncertain further origin. Possibly an early borrowing from a putative Proto-Iranian *anćuwan. Compare Khwarezmian hnču and Ossetian ӕфсӕн (æfsæn). Less likely, but still plausibly, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰew- (“to pour”). For this, compare German gießen (“to pour, cast liquid metal/glass”).
