excursion fare (plural excursion fares)

  1. (travel) A fare for travel by land, air, or water which is less expensive than the regular fare, and which usually depends on special conditions, such as round-trip travel, payment in advance, or restrictions in duration of stay.

      Bands of Musicians conveyed in ordinary advertised Excursion Trains are charged the full excursion fare, but when accompanying Guaranteed Excursions, or travelling in Excursion Trains to Brass Band Contests, they are conveyed at half the Excursion Fare.
