  1. (obsolete) A garbage man.
    • 1934, In re Gordon & Gelberg, 69 F.2d 81, 83 (2d Cir. N.Y. 1934):
      It is quite clear from the testimony of the foreman that the books directed to be turned over by the order below were in fact given to a dirtman who was paid for taking the "stuff" away.

    • 1851, George Adams, The Boston Directory, page 12:
