Borrowed from French -ade, as in promenade; adopted by other languages, as seen in English blockade.
Suffix
-ad-
- (verbal suffix) -adi notable duration of an action
- lerni (“to learn”) + -ad- → lernadi (“to study”)
- (nominal suffix with verbal root) -ado noun of an action
- danci (“to dance”) + -ado → dancado (“dancing”)
- (nominal suffix with nominal root) -ado simple action of the verb without connotation of duration
- krono (“a crown”) + -ad- → kronado (“a coronation”)
